What We Believe and Do

When we choose to follow Jesus, we are already called to share his good news and love others! In our tradition, we believe the work of making God's will be done on earth as it is in heaven is all of our work to do together.

Getting involved in a local congregation and seeing where their needs and your talents overlap is a sacred responsibility.

Our national church does not tell local congregations what to do, we help local congregations do what they know God is calling them to do by building connections of Christians who have faced similar challenges. Running churches requires skills in nonprofit management, building care, finances, theology, child and adolescent pedagogy, community outreach, speaking multiple languages, and so much more. Our ministry tables are topic-centred gatherings of people who can support one another locally and globally. 

Serving as a pastor in the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Canada comes in diverse forms. Whether you are Disciple in Canada discerning a call to leadership or a leader of another tradition or location discerning if God is calling you to serve in Canada with us, we want to meet you and pray with you and listen beside you.
